Ms. Amanda Hirsch
Hello Harpool!! My name is Amanda Hirsch, and I come to Harpool in my 11th year of public education. I hold a BFA in Theatre Arts, from Sam Houston State University. I also hold a MLS in Organizational Leadership, from Fort Hays State University. I have directed in Grand Prairie ISD, Lewisville ISD and have made my way North to Denton ISD. The last two years I was the Head Director at Navo Middle School. I have been blessed to have performed and directed in both the educational and professional circuits. Although I would love to be on Broadway, my heart (and lack of singing voice), keeps me busy in the classroom. I am a karaoke champion in my own head and will sing at any chance given! My greatest achievement is being the mother of twin, 4-year-old boys, Ethan and Owen. They certainly keep me on my toes, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am thrilled to be working alongside Mrs. Heather Alverson this year. We look forward to carrying on the Harpool Theatre legacy and bringing new inspiration to the department. This is going to be an awesome year with endless possibility!!
Mrs. Heather Alverson
This is Mrs. Alverson's sixth year teaching and she is ecstatic to join the Harpool family and work alongside Amanda Hirsch. Previously, she has taught at the middle and high school level. She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Performance from the University of Texas at Arlington, and later received her Master of Arts in Drama from Texas Woman’s University. Mrs. Alverson has experience in acting, directing, choreography, and a secretly enjoys special effects make up for film. She has been seen on stage in various theatres in the DFW area, Carnegie Hall in NYC, and the Brighton Fringe Festival in England. Mrs. Alverson believes that theatre is great place for all students to enhance their creativity, communication, and collaboration skills. While not at school, she loves to day dream about living in England, drink tea, read, travel, and spend every moment that she can with her husband Daniel and two dogs Charlotte and Maggie.
